 Its a special birthday he's 50
I am taking him to Iceland to see the Northern  lights and to go Whale watching.
We will also celebrate 33 years together while we are there. So two birds one stone springs to mind!

 Can't wait till May now, we couldn't go before that as you can't go Whale watching until May.

Hers one I picked up for a couple of pounds at a car boot last summer.

This is what people say in England on the first of the month, its meant to bring you luck.
Or some people say White Rabbits again another saying that meant o be lucky.
 Just found this to explain it all........

In England we have a funny tradition for the first day of each month.

• First we say "Pinch, punch, it's the first of the month!" 
• Then we give somebody a small pinch and a light punch on the arm.
• We can do this on first day of every month.

If we follow this by saying white rabbit it means the receiver of the pinch punch can't return the saying and pinch punch us back!
  
This is a funny little tradition usually only done by kids or younger people. I remember that sometimes the punch from my school friends was a little more painful than it should have been, but boys will be boys!

On my quest to use up what we have in I decided to make a Tomato and broccoli  quiche with a herb crust.To go with that   a potato salad and a mixed salad for dinner.

And for lunch tomorrow Mini Ham and Tomato  Quiche

I am thinking of getting a new phone. I currently have a blackberry which I like and find easy to use.

 



 But I can't get a lot of apps on it that I want.
Now do I get an I phone or not. What do people think ? What's the best phone ?

Well Its Hospital day.

Well Its Hospital day.

I have to go back to the hospital today to see the surgeon and have some physio. Lets see if all this rest   with a growing blanket on my lap has helped. I  have found all this resting very difficult, I am not a natural rester. I like to be busy doing things and I have so much to do because we are going on holiday shortly.
So lets hope I can take the brace off and get on and do.

I took my brace off this morning

I was all alone last night Tasha was working and the other half got called out because of the weather. He's an Electrical engineer so in bad weather he usually has to go and get peeps electric back on. Any way I digress. I had to take it off last night in case I fell and and there was no one here to help me.It seems to  be getting better as it didn't hurt as much.

So before I put it back on this morning and took my pain med's  I went and got some wool.  To start a blanket. I have been aching to use my new spotty crochet hook, and I have found a crochet class near by that I am going to go to its every Wednesday evening, hopefully I can go next week!

I finally went to the hospital this morning after another sleepless night.
I have chipped the bone in my knee and torn the ligaments. All this from a fall down the stairs.
I have got o wear a leg brace and I am on crutches. I am so debilitated. I hate having to rely on people.

I have to rest it until Tuesday. Then I have to see the surgeon again and the psysio.

We went shopping today as this is the only day we are both off before we go on holiday.
We both needed a couple of things. I needed to go in the craft supply shop I stopped and looked at the sawing machines my good heavy one got broke at work last year. Long story! I have been using a little John Lewis one but there is no light on it and I find it difficult to see.




Any way the other half said do you want one for your Birthday ?.

While I sit and rest my knee, I thought I would have  ago at some patch work. I have not done it since school and that was many moons ago.
So I sat and cut them all out, sawed the little paper templates in them. The couldn't resist putting a couple together.

 Oh and I made a Lancashire Hot Pot for dinner with the left over beef stew.

This ones  vegetarian  for Tash. I must say it was lovely. And just what we needed on a cold winters night!

I managed to fall down the stairs so have been feeling sorry for myself ever  since!

Not hand bags I am a shoe girl! but that's another post.
Let me explain.

I hate carrier bags so have a big collection of bags for life. Which I keep in the boot of my car and on the back of the basement door I use them for everything lunches shopping holiday bags.   I nipped out this morning and the shop I wanted was closed so I pooped into B&M bargains and found this beauty and all for 99p I was so happy its lovely. This will be my beach bag next month when we go on holiday!!

I then nipped into the Red Cross and look what they had.

Oh I am so happy it really doesn't take much.

I had to put a little gift together for a work colleagues birthday today. I had to gather what I had in and around at 06.30 this morning,she's a coffee lover so don't think I did to bad do you?
I had some nice instant  coffee in and I always have a surplus of cups as I buy them all the time and never use them. I had bought these at Christmas and was going to put sachets of hot chocolate in them little  marshmallows and chocolate spoons but I forgot. Good job really. :-)) I have taken the photo before I wrapped it in fancy cellophane so you can see the contents.

I decided to do the front garden instead of the back garden. The back garden is going to take a few days, some power tools and more than little old me to sort it out.
The front garden was getting over run with weeds. So I started weeding this morning.

So I am putting these on, My lovely new shiny Christmas wellies  and tackling i!! I may be a while. It's like a jungle. I am a fair weather gardener I only usually go out there when the sun shines.
But I really want it to look nice this year. So I think I need to put the work in now.
Any Gardeners out there with any advice.
I want A veg patch in the corner and I want to plant a good herb garden this year. So what you see in the right corner is going.

I have decided to use my blog as my online diary. If I write on here what I want to do I get on and do it.if I just think about it or tell myself I am going to do it nothing gets done.
So today I sorted out my folding space in my wardrobe. I got 4 bin bags out of it 2 to the charity shop and the rest I am going to try and sell on face book slimming world group. I have made two sales already on there today. I will box it up car boot it with the rest of my treasures in the spring.

I have made tomorrows dinner Fish Pie. Because I was on the early but I have just been phoned and I am now on the late.

I had a little dabble with my glass paints

And I bought a couple of bits at the charity shop Utensils pot 50P and Delia's Cook book 50P.
