A little update on the garden

The sleepers gone in to retain the garden. the drainsin and some of the patio's been laid.

After the house we have now started on the garden. |We were going to wait until we got back from Greece but it really needed doing.

We are only doing the patio area. The lawn and beds can wait a couple of weeks until i'm back to look after them while they get established.

The big build Decisions

Every thing went OK at the hospital yesterday. We came home had some lunch and went off to look at kitchens floors etc. I was feeling really rushed, having to make snap decisions on the spot.

STOP  

No I said i'm not doing it we are going to have to live with the kitchen, flooring, worktops etc for a long time. I have an idea what I want. I have a board on pinterest I have had for ages but that's different isn't it?

Anyway I saw a few possibilities. The builders not coming for a chat until the end of the month and the Kitchen planner is coming next week. So I have a few more weeks to have a good look around. 

I think I keep putting it off because of the mess. I'm in a mess at the moment it's the added mess.

Anyway on to more pleasant things planning days out in spring and summer.

Garden

With all this nice weather I have been trying to get the garden sorted. It looks a bit unloved at the moment.

Ducks

Every year we get a visit from pair of ducks. Last year they had a friend tagging along. They arrived back yesterday and guess what they still had there friend with them. They will breed soon and they will bring the ducklings to visit us. I don't know where they go at night but every morning they come here to my work knocking on the windows with there beaks for food.It's not like we are near any ponds or anything they just turn up and waddle about the car park quacking all day.

I will try and find a photo of them with the ducklings from last year.

Does any one no anything about ducks and could maybe shed some light on why they come.

I seem to have been at work since coming back from holiday. And feel  I haven't had a minute to myself, with all the washing, ironing and putting away.

Any way today I sat and tried to plan a cottage garden. I have bought lots of seeds. I want it to look something like the images below.

Well the white stuff arrived

Well the white stuff arrived

 And I am really not happy about it because I already fell and hurt myself on Wednesday.
I managed to fall down the stairs so have been feeling sorry for myself ever  since!

I decided to do the front garden instead of the back garden. The back garden is going to take a few days, some power tools and more than little old me to sort it out.
The front garden was getting over run with weeds. So I started weeding this morning.

So I am putting these on, My lovely new shiny Christmas wellies  and tackling i!! I may be a while. It's like a jungle. I am a fair weather gardener I only usually go out there when the sun shines.
But I really want it to look nice this year. So I think I need to put the work in now.
Any Gardeners out there with any advice.
I want A veg patch in the corner and I want to plant a good herb garden this year. So what you see in the right corner is going.
