Shopping

I went shopping today not dull food shopping nice shopping I had set my heart on a Laura Ashley cake dome but when I saw it in the shop I couldn't justify £25.00 for a bit of tin and a piece of glass.

So I bought a bath mat instead not just any bath mat a Cath Kidston lovely I found in TK Max.

Then I saw A lovely pair of slippers in Monsoon and I swear they just fell into my hands well I had to take them home.

On the way home I went into the charity shop and there it was a glass dome all the princely cost £1.00.

So not a bad day got every thing I wanted for less than the the price of a cake dome.

What made you buy your house ?

I have just Thought we have lived here 15 years today and this is what made me buy this house, I stumbled across it by accident, the estate agent phoned and told me about another house on this road, I went to see it and it was beautiful with a hundred foot back garden and a stream at the bottom of the garden. But it didn't feel right so driving back down this long road I saw it for sale it was the windows I spotted first. I stopped the car and had a look in the letter box and knew then I had to have it.

I came to see it the next day and put an offer in there and then £10.000 below asking price well it had been empty 4 years, it was accepted and it was ours.

It's been a very happy house and I always pinch myself when i walk in knowing how lucky we were to find it.

Wasting food

One of my pet hates is wasting food, I went to Mr T'S this morning and after leaving £100.00 lighter with hardly any shopping. I get home and start putting it away in the salad drawer I find three dodgy looking peppers, 10 dodgy tomatoes I say dodgy that's the families take on anything that is a little wrinkled me included. In the fruit dish there was 2 over ripe bananas and in the veg rack 4 dodgy looking carrots, now if I had have gone shopping yesterday as usual the said family would have put the shopping away and all this dodgy produce would have gone in the bin instead of here. Any one want a piece of carrot cake or a banana muffin. and with some mushrooms, courgettes, garlic and a can of tomatoes tomorrow nights dinner sorted lasagne.

Thank You Caroline Lace Threads

I have been busy doing this today, this statue was destined for the CS, my mum keeps bringing me stuff that she thinks I like and to be quite honest I hate most of the things she brings me, so with a little present from Lace threads a scrummy packet of tissues I decided to do this, because she has got a pretty face and now a pretty dress. what do you think.

Shabby dining room

I have been looking at blogs and my dining room is shabby, Not chic just plain shabby. So on Thursday I finish work for 5 days, do you think that's long enough to shabby it up. Pictures to follow. I have made a list, and I am going to tick it off as I go along

Thought i would resurrect my blog

Thought i would resurrect my blog, I don't know why I haven't posted for so long. My grandma would have been 100 today, if she were still alive. She died 5 years ago, she was a wonderful funny lady, who taught me allot.
I got to thinking about her on Saturday as I was sat making a patchwork quilt, the green fabric reminded me of an old eiderdown she used to have.
I wish we still had it it was really warm and snuggly.
Here's a picture of the quilt not yet finished
