Build update 04.04.2018

It's five  weeks in and its really getting me down now. we are eating dust i'm sure. It's slowly slowly getting there.

People keep letting him down saying there coming and they don't turn up. The electrician should have come yesterday. He's coming today. But he has set us back another day.
The plasterer starts tomorrow.

Pudding checking the work out.

Walls ready for plaster. Plans on the wall keeping me sane.

Happy easter

Happy Easter.

No eggs for me I went back to slimming world last week.

2 1/2 off this week even with dinner and drinks out before the concert.

The GP said I have to lose a stone and change some things in my diet. My cholesterol is too high and if I lose a stone I can come off the blood pressure meds.

That's incentive enough for me. Small, steps should do it.

Building update

This week has really tested my patients. First of all the builders went through the gas pipe. Then on Wednesday night the shower ket on tripping the electric. I thought they had gone through the wire. We only need them to nip the water pipes and they will have  a hat trick.

It turns out the element has gone in the shower. So it wasn't there fault.
We went and bought a new shower. Both the builder and Geoff said it's easy just take it off pop the new one on.

It turns out our old shower was quite deep on the wall and the new ones are narrow. So not so easy unless we find a deep one it will be quite a big job. We will have to take the tiles off and chase out the pipe in the wall.

The drama of it all.

On a brighter note the building is going up.

Sam Smith

Sam Smith was amazing!! what a fantastic entertainer.
He was so overwhelmed with the crowd and there reaction to him. He had everyone crying when he dedicated a song to the people who were at the arena on the 22 May 2017.
He has such a vulnerability to him you just want to hug him.

I dragged my eldest daughter with me. She's my concert partner we always go to see people together. She has moaned about it for weeks then forgot she was going.

Well Sam you have a new fan. She loved you.

Thanks Sam for a brilliant night

Feeling frustrated

This build is really slow and frustrating I feel the builder and the building inspector are holding me to ransome.
If I don't have what the building inspector dictates he will stop the build.

And the builder he just comes and go's when he pleases.

It's really getting me down now.

I came home from work this morning to find them here. I got up at 13:00 and they had gone. It;s a four day week this week and next, so they aren't going to get much done again.

On a brighter note the window people have just rang they are coming out to fit the new windows on Wednesday morning.

French Bread Day

Did you know? Did anybody know? French bread day. How bizarre.

Any way awe love French bread here so I think I may have to make some fresh homemade  soup when I get in from work and buy a couple of loaves of soft French bread.

 That's dinner sorted

19/03/2018

I need this today as I am feeling quite down with the house looking a mess. I know it will be worth it in the end, but the end seems far away. And because I work full time I seem to spend all my free time cleaning and trying to keep on top of this dust.

This is what I was saying to Geoff yesterday. But secretly i'm fed up of it.

24 year anniversary

Today we have lived in our home for 24 years. My god I sit here and wonder where the years have gone, Our children were babies when we moved in.

I love this house most of the time. I like the feeling of space. Every room feels spacious with the high ceilings.

But at this minute it feels cold, drafty, dirty. dusty an cluttered.

This is my current view. All my plants are in here to save them choking on the dust.

I know we have to crack eggs to make an omelet, but I think we have enough now.

This is what they did yesterday. I know it doesn't look a lot but they don't stop all day long.

Steels in

Supporting wall for the steel built where the kitchen/dining room door used to be. this is now the back wall of my pantry.

Garden room wall starting to get built. Using the old war bricks.

Geoff has been snowed in as well today. We will probably strip the paper off the walls in the dining room.
