Sofa shopping

We did go sofa shopping on Saturday. We went all over I had set my heart at one in Loaf who fortunately for me had just opened a new show room in Wilmslow. I love the pudding sofa.
It looks so comfortable and squashy.


It was massive!

I couldn't have it it was so big, even the smaller one was too big 😥

We went to all the usual sofa places they were all too big and not what I wanted. 

Then I remembered a little shop I went to at Christmas time. 

I walked in and there it was, The most comfortable sofa i have ever sat on. 

I have had to put throws on the arms because the cats think it's a diving board. 

And I had to bring this little gem home with me. 

I am so happy it's all finished and furnished.😍

And then we did this. 

Because we are a little fed up of talking about the house.

We are going couch shopping tomorrow. 

Painting cupboards

The dining room is coming together now. Hopefully by the end of next week everything should be done.
The windows are being fitted at the front next week. The blinds are being finished and the cornice at the end of the kitchen is being fitted.

Geoff can put my shelves up then and I can get the boxes emptied that have been in the cellar.

I am really going to go through it all and take it to the car boot.

I have a kitchen

The kitchen fitters came back to finish the kitchen and guess  what the builder had told me to order the wrong part. No probs as ever I phoned Wickes and received fantastic customer service. The part is coming on the 22nd and the fitters are coming back on 24th all sorted its an end it that's decorative so doesn't stop me using my shiny new kitchen.

It wasn't a wasted journey for them as they had to sand and oil my worktops any way.

Here it is nearly finished just have to get some blinds fitted next week.

There's a couple of problems in the dining room so once they are done I can get the blinds for all of it.

 Natasha bought us a bottle of Champagne at the start of this and said open it when your sat in it and happy with it.

I can't wait to crack it open. 

Tiles

We had some tiles fitted yesterday. I really think it finishes it off.

The kitchen will be finished today. Finaly!! 

Eating at the table

We put our old table up as a temporary measure last night it was so nice to eat at the table again. I have so missed it. I really don't like eating on my knee.

Painting

I have had o work this weekend. Geoff bless him has worked really hard painting the kitchen and new dining room.

He thinks it needs a second coat. It's so big which  makes it really hard word for him.

I will be home at 3pm so can lend him a hand then.

We had a landscaper come and have a look yesterday, another's coming today  and a friends brother who's a landscaper is coming  tomorrow. See how the qoutes differ. 

A little progress

Still no sign of the builder we are just getting on with what we can. We have found quite a big list of things that need attention. So can only do so much.

 We had to cut the dresser down to get it in. |The new skirting boards are thicker apparently.

 I ordered my fire and hearth yesterday. It's ready in two weeks.

Stalemate

We are at a stalemate with the builders. They had a new job to start on Monday so had to finish mine by then. Unfortunately they didn't finish to the standard I expect for the money I have spent. I a word they started to rush instead of telling the next customer to wait a day.

The floors not complete, the kitchen's not finished and the electrics still need completing.It needs tiling behind the cooker and the sink.

And the state they've left the garden in is a total disgrace.😞


My larder has doors that's what they did all day hang doors, fit skirting boards  and clear all there tools out.

I am at the end of my tether with it all I wanted to clean my house and get it all back to normal. I can't do that until it's finished and the furniture that belongs in there is put back. That can't happen until the floors done.

The floor went in and a little more painting got done.

It should all be finished this time next week. Thank god 

A little break from the house

I really needed a break from all this dust mess and disorganisation!!

So my eldest daughter Jade took me out to see Miss Saigon. My mum's been telling me how good it was for years and for the bits I was awake for it was.

I was bone tired and because it was warm and dark I drifted off for a couple of minutes.

Geoff cracked on with the house wile I was out.
